Excellent for use in applications where round pin or screw pin shackles are traditionally used, but a bolt type shackle is a better choice for permanent or long-term pulling or lifting, or if there’s a risk of a load sliding on the shackle pin (which can cause it to rotate). This added safety feature from the use of the bolt/nut/cotter pin combination is the reason why this shackle type is also called a safety anchor shackle.
